9 Rubislaw Terrace involved the sensitive refurbishment of a Listed Building to provide a new office for Mcknight Associates. McKnight Associates brief was to create a space that had the look and feel of a boutique hotel; whilst providing a ‘home from home’ working environment that placed the wellbeing of its employees to the fore. The brief also called for a mixture of private, collaborative and entertaining spaces. The reception and boardrooms were not only to function as a space for more formal client meetings, but also to provide a space for entertaining clients and hosting events for local charities. The motivation was to revive the building and develop a bespoke aesthetic that embraced the old and new and brought a warmth and elegance with the use of rich texture, colour and material. Read less
